NHS: Ara Darzi Confirms No Labour Party Plans To Scrap Private Healthcare

Baron Darzi of Denham, a former health minister, has confirmed that the Labour Party has no plans to scrap private healthcare.

His comments follow a speech by Labour leader Keir Starmer, in which he said that the party would "end the scandal of private companies profiting from our NHS".

Darzi said that Starmer's comments had been "misinterpreted" and that the party was not planning to abolish private healthcare.

"The Labour Party is not going to scrap private healthcare," he said. "We believe that people should have the choice to use private healthcare if they want to, but we also believe that the NHS should be the main provider of healthcare in this country."

Darzi's comments will be welcomed by the private healthcare sector, which has been concerned about the Labour Party's plans for the NHS.

The Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN) said that Darzi's comments were "a clear and unequivocal statement that the Labour Party does not intend to scrap private healthcare".

"This is a welcome and reassuring statement for our members and for the millions of people who rely on private healthcare in this country," said IHPN chief executive David Hare.

The Labour Party has said that it is committed to the NHS and that it will not make any changes that would damage the service.

However, the party has also said that it believes that the NHS is not currently meeting the needs of the population and that it needs to be reformed.

The party has proposed a number of changes to the NHS, including increasing funding, reducing bureaucracy, and giving patients more choice over their care.

It is not yet clear whether these changes would have a negative impact on the private healthcare sector.

However, Darzi's comments suggest that the Labour Party is not planning to make any major changes to the private healthcare sector.
